My kids beg to have their friends over on a regular basis. I’ve found that we have to be intentional about being social, with our busy after school schedule. It just takes a little planning! There’s always homework and chores to be done, but sometimes the kids need to let loose!
Once a week, the kids have early out from school, so this is typically when we invite friends over, to maximize play time. Since my daughter loves crafting, we decided to host a fun, creative afternoon with her cute friend, decorating tote bags and snacking on delicious LunchMakers + Drink! It was a memorable day, for sure!
I love easy, convenient snacks like LunchMakers! They’re already prepared, so all I had to do was surprise the girls while their tote bags were drying. They were all smiles!

Here’s what you’ll need for this activity:
Supplies:
Plain white tote bags
Acrylic paint
Paint brushes
Hot glue gun
Pom poms
Buttons
Let the kids get creative, painting and decorating their tote bags however they desire! They sky’s the limit! We placed a piece of cardboard inside the bag to prevent the paint from bleeding through.
My daughter loves all things unicorn and rainbows, so I predicted how hers would look before she even started. 
I hot glued on pom poms and buttons after they were finished painting.
Then it’s snack time while the paint dries!
They loved crafting, but I think the highlight of the entire afternoon was definitely the refreshments. Because turkey and cheese crackers and pizza are always a good idea.
I set a goal to host regular playdates for my kids in this new year. We’re off to a good start!
